Ingredients of Mom's Christmas Day Prime Rib

  1. Prepare 4 lb of Prime Rib - bone in ask butcher to separate bone from the meat.
  2. It's 2 clove of Garlic sliced into medium pieces.
  3. You need 1/4 cup of Flour to lightly cover the roast.
  4. Prepare 1 of Salt, pepper and garlic powder.
  5. You need 1 pinch of Sprig fresh of rosemary (if desired).

  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F.
  2. Cut slits in the roast. Insert garlic pieces into the slits salt and pepper the outside of the roast and sprinkle with garlic powder if desired.
  3. Gently flour the outside of the roast to cover.
  4. After 20 minutes on high heat, baste the roast and reduce the heat to 350°.
  5. Then set the timer for 15 minutes and baste the roast every 15 minutes there after until done.
